Solomon Water would like to inform our valued customers that due to the high turbidity (dirt particles in water) caused by heavy rainfall upstream at our water source, our Kongulai pump and gravity system remain closed. This is necessary to protect our water system, pipes and meters from damage, as well as to protect customers pipes and systems and also to ensure water is properly chlorinated to make it safe.
The following areas will continue to be affected with low pressure or water outage:

For customers still receiving water, please ensure you boil all water for food preparation and consumption.
This shutdown is a direct consequence of illegal and unmanaged logging in the Kohove and Konguali catchment areas, and is outside of Solomon Water’s control. We are working with government and landowners to find solutions to these ongoing problems.
